How we work

We work on a retained basis, which means that a client will ask us to perform a specific search for a particular role with them – we do not take on roles by any other method and therefore we deal with fewer roles, but in greater detail.

The other way recruitment works is on a contingent basis, where a company will often have a large list of potential candidates, often within a specific industry (but that is not always the case). This works the opposite way to retained recruitment, in that the consultants will largely do business by searching for roles for their candidates.

Many large recruitment companies will do both, but as a specialist organisation, we work for specific clients on specific roles.

Candidate Policy

We are an Executive Search company, and as such we do not normally make placements via speculative applications. We source our candidates in relation to roles we have already been asked to complete a search for and therefore we proactively research candidates who fit these roles.

However, from time to time we understand that individual candidates may contact us with respect to their career progression. In this instance we make every possible attempt to ascertain if the candidate is suitable for any open roles we hold. We will conduct a career call with the candidate to understand their skills and requirements and will match them against our current role portfolio. If no match is made, we will then contact the candidate to advise them as such and will place their CV in our records. Should anything suitable become available, they will be matched to that role and contacted again.
