Automation in the workplace

There’s no doubt that automation has improved the efficiency of the workplace. This has been the case since the Industrial Revolution and the introduction of weaving looms and printing presses. But with technology marching forward at ever faster paces,we wanted to investigate how close we are to AI taking over the workplace.

In a series of blogs and online polls, we explored the topic in depth, looking at 12 skills and how automation can enhance performance in organisations. We also touched upon whether or not Artificial Intelligence could fully replace these roles.

The good news, for now at least, is that there is no replacement for the human being in certain roles. Skills like empathy, creative thought and ethics are essential for good business, and these are skills that AI has not yet, and may never grasp.
