Frequently Asked Questions

Executive Search

What is executive search?

Executive search, or head-hunting as it is commonly known, is a service that helps organisations find candidates for senior positions. It is the core activity of Ennis & Co Group, focused on the automotive and mobility industry.

We work on a retained basis, which means that a client will ask us to carry out a search for a specific senior role. We do not accept roles by any other method.

Typically, our search assignments are for senior leadership roles at VP and C suite level as well as their direct reports.

How long do your searches take?

We operate on a typical turnaround time of 8-12 weeks from the time we take the initial brief to our submission of the candidate shortlist, ensuring we connect you with the best available talent in the quickest possible time.

How do you maintain confidentiality throughout a search process?

We conduct our search assignments under an NDA, which candidates are required to sign before going forward in the search process. Each stage of the process is also carried out in-house, including candidate interviews.

Do you take on global roles?

Depending on the requirements of the client, we search for candidates across the world for roles based either in the UK or abroad. Over the last two years, three-quarters of our assignments have had an international scope.

Im looking for work. How can you help?

As a specialised executive search company, we do not normally make placements via speculative applications. We source our candidates in relation to a search assignment for which we have been specifically engaged by a client, and we search proactively for the best candidates to fit this role.

We understand that individual candidates may wish to contact us from time to time to discuss their career progression. In this scenario, we will conduct a career call with the candidate to understand their skills and requirements and to assess whether they are suitable for any open roles that we are holding in our portfolio.

If no match is made, we will keep the candidate’s CV on file, if that is their wish, in case a suitable role should become available in the future.

Intelligence

Where do you source your data?

All our data is sourced exclusively by our in-house researchers and data analysts. The level of detail we provide is not available from public sources.

Our Intelligence team draw on information in our extensive database and also carry out primary research through our network of contacts to gather market and candidate insights.

How is your data validated?

Our data is sourced directly from our candidate and client database, bypassing any secondary and unreliable sources. When compiling our reports, we carry out validation checks to ensure that our data is robust and up to date.

What is the turnaround time on a research project?

Our research projects vary in length depending on the scope of the project and the level of detail required. We are happy to provide an estimated turnaround time once we understand the client’s requirements.
