Ennis & Co Group, the global automotive executive search and talent research company, have launched an initiative to honour past and present heroes to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on May 8.
The campaign invites people to share personal stories of individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary courage, resilience and commitment either historically or in the present day.
It could be a family member who served the country or their community during World War II, or a modern-day relative, friend or colleague who goes above and beyond in the service of others.
The story judged to be the most compelling and inspiring will receive a limited-edition, replica Victoria Cross medal made by the jewellers, Hancocks – official makers of the VC from its inception in 1856.
The initiative holds deep significance for Ennis & Co, who have supported a series of campaigns to recognise the sacrifices made by armed services personnel.
Lynda Ennis, CEO & Founder of Ennis & Co Group, said: “This is something that is incredibly close to my heart. My late father, Bernard ‘Bunny’ Ennis’ served as an RAF rear gunner during World War II and narrowly survived after being shot down.
“He later turned his passion for all things mechanical into a successful automotive career but remained a tireless campaigner for the military veteran community throughout his life.
“Earlier this year, I was delighted to launch the Bunny Ennis Fund in his memory – an annual training grant to support an individual on their career within automotive.
“We’re also proud to have a long-standing partnership with Mission Motorsport, a charity dedicated to aiding with recovery and rehabilitation of former military personnel by providing opportunities through motorsport and the automotive industry.
“As the 80th anniversary of VE Day approaches, we want to shine a light those who have made an outstanding contribution to wider society through their acts of courage and selflessness.”
