The Cost of the Skills Gap – Clare Wright of Jardine Motors Group

Clare’s impressive work ethic and personal resilience has seen her through from her beginnings as a young woman in the then male-dominated automotive world, rising in the ranks to her current position as Chief People Officer at Jardine Motors Group.

Clare cites several of her early senior colleagues as inspirational leaders and they have influenced her to become the same in her own right. She aims to meet every challenge head-on and to strive for inclusivity in her teams, spearheading campaigns and initiatives to drive an inclusive culture within JMG itself and beyond in the wider sector.

Jardine Motors Group represents 14 of the world’s most renowned car brands across more than 50 locations in the UK, with a mission to be ‘the best motor retailer as judged by you’.

With the customer at the heart of everything they do, accessibility and functionality are the keys to their customer journey, whether that be in a showroom, workshop, or online, where digital transformation enables them to cater to the ever-changing needs of customers in a rapidly moving industry.

In this video, Clare touches on how customer needs and skills are intrinsically linked, and how advances in technology could lead to more transferable skills across industries.
