The Cost of the Skills Gap – Mike Flewitt of Vertical Aerospace

Mike Flewitt is the Non-Executive chairman of the board of directors of Vertical Aerospace.

With a wealth of experience as an automotive leader, he has previously held senior positions with McLaren Automotive, Ford, Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Now, he brings his expertise to the pioneers of electric flight.

Vertical is enabling the transition to a future of sustainable aviation with the development of the VX4, an innovative piloted electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle. With the decarbonisation of transport being a critical element in reducing global emissions, this cutting-edge aircraft is a huge step forward in the transformation of mobility.

Being an innovator in the aviation space, you might assume that Vertical faces a somewhat novel set of challenges in comparison to the automotive industry, however, in this video, Mike explains how the skill sets synchronise between the industries, and how this makes competition for talent even tougher.
